Cameron|Powell are internationally
renowned golf course designers and golf consultants and, between us, we
have nearly 60 years
combined
experience of golf course design, development and operation.
This has given us a real insight into not just the nuts and bolts golf course design but into all of the factors and aspects that go into the successful design, development, construction, maintenance and operation of golf courses and their supporting facilites. We know that a well designed golf course should not only offer a challenge to international golf professionals, but should also provide the necessary flexibility and playability for amateurs -- of any handicap -- to both enjoy and develop their game. We have also learned that, when it comes to golf course design, construction & operation, good doesn't have to mean expensive... and expensive doesn't necessarily mean good. |

Bob Cameron
has been a PGA Golf Professional since 1970 and, in recognition of his services
to golf over the past 35
years, he
has recently been elected as a Fellow
of the Professional Golfers
Association.
He spent several
years as a European Tour player -- during which time he played in 23
World Opens -- and between 1970 and 1992 he won 24 local, regional,
national and international tournaments.
As a European Tour player he played some of the finest golf courses in the world and knows just what it takes to make an international standard golf course. As an experienced Club Professional & Golf Teacher he has an intimate understanding of the amateur game, from beginners up to international level. |

Chris
Powell is a versatile and multi-skilled professional with 35 years
experience of design, development, operational and
administrative experience in the
construction, hotel, golf & leisure industries.
He
originally qualified as member of the Royal Institute of Chartered
Surveyors and worked for 12 years in the construction industry as a
Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager.
The last 23 years have been spent in golf & leisure design, development and management. This professional construction background is
combined, probably
uniquely, with a natural golf course design talent. This golf
design gift
was initially developed during the time he managed the renowned golf
course
architectural practice of Cotton Pennink Steel, who were responsible
for the design of over 300 golf courses in more than 30 countries.

Before
forming Cameron|Powell,
we managed the day-to-day operation of Miller Buckley Leisure,
a private group of
companies
specialising in
the
design, construction, development & operation of golf &
leisure
facilities.
Under
chairman Sir
Michael Bonallack,
Miller Buckley Leisure operated across the UK & Europe and
incorporated one of Europe's most renowned golf design practices,
Cotton Pennink Steel.
Miller Buckley Leisure participated in various joint ventures and partnerships with: Arnold Palmer in the USA; Graham Marsh in Australia; Bernhard Langer in Germany; and a number of UK Regional Development Corporations to develop a series of integrated golf, leisure & residential projects at Ingol, Livingston, Birchwood & Redditch. |

Cameron|Powell was
formed in
1987 to provide an independent golf design, development and management
consultancy service.
At the
same time, we took over the development of the Abbey
Park Golf & Country Club, which we had previously project
managed
for Miller Buckley Leisure. We completed the construction of
the
18 hole golf course and added
an hotel, conference centre, health & fitness spa, golf
&
leisure goods shop, and golf driving range. We continued to operate
the completed
facility for several years thereafter.
As well as our golf course design projects, we have also, over the years, been involved in the management and operation of a number of golf courses, golf clubs, driving ranges, health & leisure clubs, and hotels. There are few consultants able to offer such extensive hands-on experience of virtually all aspects of the golf design, development & operation process. |
