1981-1987 Cotton Pennink Lawrie & Partners, Rugby, Warwickshire
Cameron was project golf course architect with
Cotton, Pennink, Lawrie & Partners who, at that time, were probably the leading golf course
architects in Europe. Cameron worked closely
with the Senior Partner, Frank Pennink, who is still regarded as one of the
all-time great British golf course architects with a number of
world-class golf courses to his name including Vilamoura Old Course, Noordwijkse, Olgiata, Palmares, Singapore
Island. For many
years Cotton Pennink were retained by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St
Andrews as consultants on changes to British Open and British Amateur
Championship courses. In all Cotton, Pennink, Lawrie & Partners were
responsible for more than 300 golf courses worldwide. Cameron was made a director
of the company in 1985.
